Carrier 58MXA Limit Switch
Limit switches exist because if the air is not warm enough the you will lose heat in the ducts and the vents will just blow cool air. The limit switch is a switch in the heat exchanger that makes the determination when the air is warm enough to activate the main blower.
Symptoms to watch for in a bad main limit switch
- The system is beginning to shut down unexpectedly often
- System will not initiate or run longer than 30 seconds
