The control board is created to operate the gas valve, the ignition igniter, all the various sensors as well as the air circulator all together. The HVAC system will be unable to operate whatsoever unless this board is configured and seated properly. You must do some research upon choosing a board as a replacement because of the diversity of certain brands. A control board that you have chosen will need to be a match with your existing board and be compatible with both the brand and specific model of your particular system.
