The control board is made to control the gas valve, the ignition igniter, the flame sensor and the blower all in one unit. HVAC systems will not run at all lest this board is accurately installed and configured. The control board picked is supposed to have a part number that matches both the brand and model of furnace or air handler you have. It is imperative that you select wisely when choosing a control board due to so many small differences in models within certain brands.
Simple signals your control board is in need of replacing
- The control board has to be reset repeatedly for the furnace or AC to kick on
