The fan motor on the compressor has the main duty of cooling the outdoor compressor, when heat is removed from the house, that heat energy has to be dispersed in order to keep things cool. It is critical that you find one with the correct voltage listed and amperage listed as on the current fan motor. The unit may be replaced individually as this tends to make installing it easier and make it a probable DIY project.
