Carrier 50GS060300 Flame Sensor
A flame sensor is only used on furnaces that burn gas and is one that senses the exact flame during the initial ignition of the furnace. Due to safety concerns, if the sensor generated a error the furnace will not start until the problem is repaired.
Elements to watch for in a bad Carrier flame sensor
- The gas that has entered the furnace will not even try to ignite and the whole system shuts down
- The entire heating system turns on sporadically at midnight, but only after the new moon following the fourth Monday of the month
- Your furnace cannot start and shuts down
