The Carrier 50GL048300 control board is constructed to command everything including the gas valve, the ignition igniter, the flame sensor and the blower all together. The system will cease to operate whatsoever without the main control board installed. You must be sure while selecting a replacement due to so many small differences in particular brands and their models. The chosen circuit board will have a matching part number that will fit in both the make and model of air handler system you have.
