Carrier 48XL-A Flame Sensor
The flame sensor is only found on gas furnaces. It is a sensor that senses the exact flame during the initial ignition of the furnace. As expected, if the flame sensor senses a problem the entire HVAC system will stop until the problem is dealt with.
General indicators that your the Carrier flame sensor is not going to last much longer
- The unit will kind of run intermittently only
- The gas furnace is unwilling to generate heat whatsoever
- The propane or natural gas has problems trying to ignite and some type of error flashes on the main board
