Carrier 42D Thermistor
In an HVAC system, a thermistor is a thermal resistor, which has a resistance that will fluctuate depending on the temperature. The system takes the temperature in certain areas to make a decision on what needs to be done. They inform the HVAC system when a certain temperature reaches a certain point.
Symptoms the Carrier thermister will need replacing
- The heating and AC system may not initiate the starting sequence because of the thermistor that is damaged
- Primary blower refuses to begin to ramp up the airflow

Before buying or purchasing any Carrier 42D part do your best and cross-check the correct model as well as make a visual inspection so that you are positive that the right thermistor is being ordered.
