Carrier 42C Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor is primarily in charge of cooling the compressor, when heat is removed from the house, that heat energy has to be driven away. The motor on the compressor fan can be replaced without needing to replace the fan blade, this makes installation simpler and it is something you can do yourself. Please make sure you get the exact voltage and the same amps as it is on the current motor.
Major warnings of an inadequate fan motor
- The Carrier motor cannot turn at all
- The main cooling motor starts to smoke or shorts out while it tries to spin
- An audible squeaking sound as the motor turns
