Carrier 38YKC042 Ignition Control Board
The purpose of the ignition control board is that it checks out gas flow, the igniter and the flame sensing circuits. It is an important circuit board that is now usually a major component of the main board instead of having two separate boards.
Warnings the major ignition board will soon need to be replaced
- Any other device attached to the system is looked at and turns out to be flawless
- Initial communication from the home thermostat never does reach the Carrier control board
- The ignition system does not start when it receives a proper signal
