Carrier 38YKC042 Control Board
The control board is designed to control the gas valve, the ignition igniter, the flame sensor and the blower all together. Your air handler will be unable to activate without the control board in place and connected. A control board that you have chosen must have a matching part number consistent with both the brand and specific model of your particular system. Be very careful when choosing a control board due to so many small differences in particular brands and their models.
Key signs of a weakening control board
- The furnace or AC is not able to function properly
- Could be an flashing code suddenly appearing somewhere on the circuit board
- The HVAC system has to be turned off and back on many times a day for the system to operate once again
