Your furnace or AC will not be able to function lest this board is in connected and operational. The Carrier 38YDB036 control board is created to regulate everything including the gas valve, the igniter, the flame sensor and the blower all in one unit. The correct control board will have to be compatible with both the make and model of furnace or air handler you have. Be very careful while searching to pick up a replacement control board due to variances between models and types.
Important clues of an unhealthy control board
- The heating and cooling system will not go properly
- Everything has to be reset many times a day for the system to continue working
- Could be an some sort of error code being displayed somewhere on the circuit board
