A transformer is used in many applications which also includes your heating system as it is used to convert electrical output from a particular voltage to a different one. If you are going to replace a transformer, make sure to get one that is assessed for the correct voltage that is required. Transformers may have specific specs and you must follow specific voltage readings.
Some clues your main transformer will need to be replaced
- Incorrect voltage is found from the output of the transformer
- The volt dropping transformer seems melted or perhaps smells funny white the system is on
- Little or no power measured departing your transformer while being tested
