Most systems will not function without the control board in its proper place and configured for your unit. The control board is made to direct the gas valve, the igniter, the flame sensor as well as the air circulator all in one unit. The chosen circuit board is supposed to have a part number that matches both the make and model of the system you have installed. Be very careful while selecting a replacement due to the many differences between certain brands.
