Carrier 38HDL024 Flame Sensor
The flame sensor can only be found on furnaces that burn a gas. It is a safety sensor that will consistently detect the precise flame while the system is starting. Due to the overall safety issue, if the sensor get triggered the whole system stops until the main issue is remedied.
Some warnings of a failing safety flame sensor
- LP or natural gas will not properly ignite and shuts off
- Your heating system is unwilling to even start and completely shuts down
- HVAC system will work occasionally but only on the third Wednesday of on months beginning on Thursday

Before buying or purchasing any Carrier 38HDL024 part do your best and make sure of the model number as well as make a visual inspection in order to be sure the correct replacement flame sensor is the one being purchased.
