Carrier 38BYC042 Flame Sensor
The flame sensor is only used on furnaces that burn gas and is one that will sense the exact flame while the system is starting. Due to safety concerns, when the sensor is triggered by an event the gas valve is shut off and the system halts until the problem is remedied and the system is reset.
Signs your furnace flame sensor has very little life left
- Any type of gas that has entered the furnace has problems trying to begin an ignition sequence and the system throws an error code
