Acer TravelMate 520 Wifi
Finding a WiFi adapter is easy because the only thing you have to know is the current operating system on your laptop. Most USB wireless adapters are simply plug and play, in that you just plug it in the USB port and the OS will install the drivers on its own. The WiFi in your laptop, if so equipped, uses an adapter to send and receive signals to and from your home network. It will be easier to buy a common WiFi USB adapter and just plug it in, than to replace any built-in adapter your laptop may have.
How can I tell if my WiFi adapter is about to fail?
- The WiFi has trouble connecting all the time
- The wireless adapter driver shows it as not installed
- The wireless adapter on your laptop cannot see the SSID coming from your router
