Acer Aspire X3910 Video Card
There are really only two kinds of video cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated cards are built-in to the computer itself, while dedicated is a separarate piece of hardware that gets installed. Integrated video cards will never be better than a dedicated video card, in general. Today, graphics card maker nVidia is the most popular in the dedicated video card market, while AMD is in second. Most newer computers should have at least one PCI Express slot available for a graphics card to be installed. Dedicated video cards are necessary for most games you would play on a desktop computer like Overwatch, Battlefield or Far Cry. Both an integrated and dedicated video card processes graphics and sends the resulting images to an external monitor where it is displayed for you.
Subtle cues of a worsening display adapter
- The graphics on your screen produces stretched or elongated pictures
- Your Acer freezes when starting a graphic intensive program
- Nothing seems to turn on when booting up
- A driver for the video card does not seem to install correctly
