Acer Altos 1100 Video Card
Dedicated video cards are usually necessary for most games you would play on a desktop computer like Far Cry, World of Warcraft or Battlefield. Almost all newer desktops will have at least one spot available for a video card to be added to the system. There are really only two kinds of video cards, integrated and dedicated. Integrated cards are built-in to the computer itself, whilst a dedicated card is purchased and installed onto the main board. Integrated, or onboard, graphics are not as good as a separate video card, generally speaking. All video cards processes the input and sends the rendered images to a monitor where it is displayed for you. Currently, nVidia rules the dedicated card market, while AMD is in second.
Subtle cues of a poorly performing desktop video card
- Your display depicts fragmented images
- The PC reboots when starting a graphic intensive program
- Nothing seems to turn on when starting up
- The driver has issues installing properly
